Welcome to the site I created for my English project.
Through this website, I want to show all of you )and my instructor( what papers I wrote and what type of research I had
to do to make a paper worthy of Instructor James Tadd Adcox.
The Hillel, my chosen field-site, is the center for Jewish students on campus and doubles as a religious place and a
place for social gatherings. Jews can go there to pray on Friday Shabat Services or go there to hang out and relax with Jewish

My course was English 106... a required course for any subject when you join Purdue as a student. Unlike most of the
other courses in the syllabi, the content of this course totally depends upon the instructor. And unlike other courses, there
are way too many sections and divisions of this particular course.
Our project involved the choosing of a field-site, followed by the research of the subculture there with a clear focus
of the content of the final paper and then subsequent research. It really doesn't sound like a lot but it is considering the
OTHER things we had to do in order to bring about our Final Paper.

The list of projects we had to complete for class are listed below... just to give an idea of what we had to do for this
class. I guess in the end it will all be worth it... I sure hope so! I worked hard for these 4.0 credit hours!
- Self-Reflection essay. A paper on an event that had a significant impact on you and your own reflections on that event.
- Proposal. A paper stating exactly why you chose the field-site you did and what you intend to study about it.
- Public Document. A project designed to create a public document for the field-site in such a manner
that will allow the subculture to use the public document should it need to do so.
- Annotated Bibliography. A paper on the reference texts and websites used during the writing of the Final Paper. This paper of mine
remains incomplete.
- Final Paper. A paper on your research at the field-site, the research you conducted on the subculture
and your entire experienced crammed into a single paper.
- Field Notes. Taken during the course of the semester, it reflects the first-person research done
at the field-site regarding the subculture.
Due to shortage of time and inability to properly scan documents, I could not attach some of my works and had to rely
on the ancient method of paper printing, which suprisingly is Mr. Adcox's choice for all the other papers we did.
